Olly, Makir, and Hugo are three UK-based seminarians who were given the opportunity from their dioceses to travel overseas and experience the missionary Church in Kenya, through Missio and Mill Hill Missionary projects. They took the time to share with us the many signs of hope they experienced on their journey.

In our new series of vlog films, these three future Priests share what they saw and heard – signs of hope which YOU create through your donations and prayers.

We were delighted that Olly, Makir, and Hugo were given the opportunity to experience mission-in-action in different parts of Kenya. We know that their experiences will enrich and inform their ministry! Huge thanks to the dioceses of Plymouth, Northampton and the Archdiocese of Southwark for supporting this great initiative.

Many paths, one mission: The journey to priesthood

During our interviews with Olly, Makir and Hugo we were privileged to hear them share how they came to discern their vocations. From very different starting points, they have all come to dedicate their lives to faith. Watch the films below to learn about their journey.

Did you know?

It is part of Missio’s mandate to support students training for the priesthood in overseas mission dioceses. Many of the seminaries in Africa and Asia struggle to cover the full costs of their training and formation. We believe no vocation should be turned away through lack of funds. That’s why the Holy Father asks us to channel help from our supporters in England and Wales to help build the future of our Church.
